Bi Luo Chun Hong Cha - Black Tea[CTA203] An interesting tea! I didn't really know what to expect, since I'm so fond of Yunnan Golds. But, this tea surprised me. First, the aroma - rich, dark, leathery, slightly smokey and appealing. And then, the flavour: first infusion, fruity, with heavy woodsy overtones. Second and then on: lush, earthy, robust. A complex tea and although as guttsy as a good Yunnan Gold, not as dimensional, lacking the smooth maltiness in other Yunnan Blacks; but a good morning brew with a kick!
