Yi Xing Hong Cha - Black Tea[CTA220] This is not a tea for novices. It also doesnt actually taste like a dian hong, and comparing it with yunnan golds is wierd. It tastes mostly like a Xiang Luo or a Chun Mee hongcha. Tart, very rich, with *very* nice mouthfeel. This tea is probably best approached gongfu, if you can manage it with the small leaves. Western brews tend to be indestinct in flavor. Western brewing probably should have 1 or 2 mini-steeps of a minute or so before brewing a longer 3 steep. Im still trying to get an exciting cup (the dry and wet leaves smell so wonderful), and Ill eventually manage it, I think.
